RSI Awareness Day
Wednesday February 29, 2012
Repetitive strain injuries (RSIs), also know as musculosketal disorders (MSDs) are terms used to describe a number of painful and disabling injuries that affect the muscles, nerves and tendons.
RSI Awareness Day was established February 29, 2000. That day was selected because it was the only non-repetitive day of the year. The day is recognized on the 28th in non-leap years. In recognition of RSI Awareness Day, a number of organizations sponsor and participate in events and training sessions to help raise awareness about RSI prevention. Below are links to some of this year's events.
13th Annual RSI DayPlus 2012, hosted by the Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers (OHCOW)
2012 RSI Awareness Day Ergonomics Training, hosted by the Workers Health & Safety Centre (WHSC)
